Most rabbit problems we see, from overgrown teeth to gut stasis, start with diet. The good news: the right diet is simple and cheap.
| Food | How much | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Hay or grass | A pile as big as your rabbit, every day | Wears teeth down and keeps the gut moving |
| Leafy greens | A handful, twice a day | Vitamins and water |
| Pellets | An egg cup a day | Topping up minerals |
| Fruit and carrots | A small treat only | Too much sugar |
Fresh water should always be available, ideally in a bowl rather than a bottle.
If your rabbit stops eating or pooing for more than a few hours, call us. It is an emergency for rabbits.
